Riffington and Carol RascoIn addition to running numerous book distribution programs nationwide, RIF also holds a number of events and contests each year to help inspire young children to read. These exciting and motivational events are a reminder to everyone that reading really is fun.

Read With Kids ChallengeRead With Kids Challenge – RIF and US Airways invite you to share the joy of reading with children in your family and community. Participate in the "Read With Kids Challenge" by logging the number of minutes you spend reading with kids. You will qualify for a chance to win a family vacation to Disney World and other prizes. RIF's goal is to log 5 million minutes nationwide by June 30, 2009!

RIF Program Excellence Honors – This celebration, sponsored by MetLife Foundation, honors 25 of RIF's most outstanding programs and their volunteers.

Online Contests for KidsThroughout the year, the RIF Reading Planet offers several contests for kids. These contests offer prize incentives for children who complete various reading and writing activities. Get more information on current and upcoming contests.

Leamos Juntos

2007 Community Reading Challenge – RIF, with sponsorship by the MetLife Foundation, is hosting ¡Leamos Juntos!: Let's Read Together 2007 MLF Hispanic Community Reading Challenge. In this year's challenge, RIF sites will be encouraged to use imagination and creativity to organize events that share the excitement of reading with Hispanic children and their communities.

Nestlé Very Best in Youth – Every two years, the Nestlé Very Best in Youth program offers children ages nine to 18 the opportunity to be honored as one of 30 outstanding young people who have made reading a priority in their lives, and who have made tangible contributions to the quality of life in their communities.
