RIF Program Excellence Honors – This celebration, sponsored by MetLife Foundation, honors 25 of RIF's most outstanding programs and their volunteers. Online Contests for Kids – Throughout the year, the RIF Reading Planet offers several contests for kids. 2007 Community Reading Challenge – RIF, with sponsorship by the MetLife Foundation, is hosting ¡Leamos Juntos!: Let's Read Together 2007 MLF Hispanic Community Reading Challenge. In this year's challenge, RIF sites will be encouraged to use imagination and creativity to organize events that share the excitement of reading with Hispanic children and their communities.
Nestlé Very Best in Youth – Every two years, the Nestlé Very Best in Youth program offers children ages nine to 18 the opportunity to be honored as one of 30 outstanding young people who have made reading a priority in their lives, and who have made tangible contributions to the quality of life in their communities. |

In addition to running numerous book distribution programs nationwide, RIF also holds a number of events and contests each year to help inspire young children to read. These exciting and motivational events are a reminder to everyone that reading really is fun.
